I think that it's important to note that it is not spelled out in scripture when resistance to the Holy Spirit becomes the unforgivable sin. The actual sin is also not spelled out.

The act of resisting the convicting of the Holy Spirit could be any number of sins, but it certainly includes a knowledge that what is being done is sin and that it shouldn't be engaged in. Continuing down a path of resistance when the Holy Spirit is trying to convict will only be tolerated for a time. But the length of that time is unknown to us.

I agree whole heartedly that Christianity is much more than words. you have to ask yourself, "are my actions actively leading people towards a greater knowledge of God, or leading them further away?"

It is important to realize that God is slow to Anger (Psalm 103), but when angered, his justice is real and lasting (Mark 3:29). We should live our lives as though we hope that God will say to us "Well done my good and faithful servant" and not be afraid of him turning his back on us and saying that he never knew us despite our "works".

BTW, it was a BA in Christian Eduction and Bible and an MA in Educational Ministries.
